The severe change in the global economic climate has lead to existential challenges for the world of private equity ranging from dealing with struggling portfolio companies, restructuring capital structures, securing future capital needs, to dealing with likely increased regulatory scrutiny. On the other hand, the current need of fresh debt and equity funding creates unique opportunities to generate value for those that have capital and who develop the required conviction to invest in these uncertain markets.
How will private equity adapt, who will the winners and losers, when will new deal activity pick-up, and what investing strategies will prevail? These are some of the issues that will be addressed in a lively discussion on private equity investing in Europe. The forum will bring together some of Europe’s leading private equity investors, turnaround specialists, and capital providers.
Speakers:
Matthias Allgaier, Managing Director H.I.G Private Equity
Winston Ginsberg, Managing Director Towerbrook
Andrew MacCullum, Managing Director Alvarez & Marsal
Andrew Wilkinson, Managing Director Goldman Sachs
Moderator:
Kathleen Bacon, Managing Director Harbourvest
