The Future of Recruiting Kevin Eyres, Managing DirectorLinkedIn Europe
The way in which organisations find talent has changed. It is no longer necessary to rely only on specialised recruiters to find the right person for the job. Instead, the Internet has expanded the range of routes for employers to find new hires and increased the opportunities for proactive professionals to be found and noticed. The old boys club has been opened to the wider world, creating new opportunities for ambitious, talented individuals. This also means that everyone now has a digital reputation. Whether you are in the business or hiring or being hired, what’s out there in the online world will likely be the first impression people have of you, so it’s important to make sure it’s the right one. For many, this throws up new challenges and there are many misconceptions about whether you should be Tweeting about what you had for breakfast or poking friends on Facebook in your lunch break. Kevin Eyres will be offering guidance on how employers can best find and attract the next generation of business leaders in an online world, and how you can stand out from the crowd and distinguish yourself online. Kevin Eyres has over 20 years of experience in the technology and internet industries including the last seven years working in Europe, focusing on developing, leading and delivering the company’s strategy and growth initiatives. Kevin has also worked in India, Korea and Australia, giving him a truly global perspective on the nature of work in different cultures. Prior to LinkedIn, Kevin was European Managing Director at SideStep and General Manager of AltaVista International, prior to the acquisition by Overture, and a Director at Shopping.com. He is passionate about leadership in startup and growth companies and has a track record of developing great products, building successful teams and achieving business goals. Kevin holds a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Texas in San Antonio and has six patents.Canapés and drinks will be served. Guests are welcome.
