Do you ever feel lost in your career?  Are you worried that you may be ‘found out’ before you ‘find yourself’?

You are not alone. Despite unprecedented career choices and  support services,  a majority of business professionals feel more lost than  ever in a sea of career issues, and find it difficult to answer the most basic questions of Who Am I? What Do I Want? What Do I Have to Offer?  This is further complicated by Social Media solutions, including Branding, which can transmit this lack of clarity in written content instantly across the globe with unlimited shelf time…

  Although many face these dilemmas, it is difficult to know where to begin.  ‘FIND ME!’ is a process which has an unexpected but essential  starting point for  finding oneself and answers to career issues: the analysis of  our  most valuable  asset, our Work and Life Experience (8760 hours per year!).   The output creates a DataBase of Me including sections such as: 1). Values, Traits, Interests and Patterns; 2). Skill Sets and Evidence; 3). Role Requirements;  4).Work Experience Analysis: quantitatively and factually based;  and 5). an Observation Log: for ongoing data collection.    The ‘FIND ME!’ process and  Database of Me  have  many benefits and applications including:

  •  A Foundation and Habit of Solid Self Awareness;

  •  Career Issue Insights and Solutions;

  • Authentic Content for Branding oneself, in all its written or oral formats such as CVs, Interviews, Linked In, Websites, etc.

  Gwendolyn Parkin, HBS MBA and MA and UKCP in Psychotherapy, has created this approach from her 30 years of client and previous work experience.  Starting with the client’s most relevant and urgent issues, the ‘FIND ME!’  process  enables in-depth insights and results with numerous career dilemmas  such as  maximising employability and ‘promotability’, developing  authority as a leader, finding meaning beyond ‘is this it?’, dealing with  redundancy, shifting negative and repetitive  patterns and  coping with corporate politics among many others;   while simultaneously building Solid Self Awareness and inevitably a career and life which ‘fit’.  As the  approach integrates  a range of disciplines from Psychotherapy to Neuroscience to   Business Analysis; it endeavours to surface most of what is relevant.

  Attendees should come away from this event with the following outcomes : 1). an introduction to the ‘FIND ME!’ process; 2). an understanding of how Solid Self Awareness by Work and Life Experience analysis is essential for solving career issues; 3). familiarisation with DataBase of Me and its 5 key categories, and how it can be applied to numerous career issues and branding vehicles; 4). initial insights about one’s own issues via the material, examples and group discussion; 5). an observation log (provided) to enable insights to continue post event.

  This event – “FIND ME!” is the first of a 2 part series – the second part “BRAND ME!” will be scheduled in the autumn. However, it will also include an introduction to how output from the Find Me Database can be used in branding oneself which will be covered in more detail in “BRAND ME!” later in the year.
