Breakfast with Tim Levene - Co-Founder of Flutter.com (now Betfair) and Augmentum Capital

Tim is co-founder of well-known online gambling platform Flutter.com, one of the highest profile internet businesses in the UK. In early 2000, Flutter raised over $24m in venture capital from Index Ventures, Benchmark Capital, amongst others. Following the merger with Betfair.com in 2001, Tim became the Commercial Director of the newly merged business. In this capacity, Tim led the internationalisation of the business, and laid the foundations across Asia, Europe and the rest of the world. Today, Betfair manages more than £60 billion in transactions each year, and facilitates more transactions each day than the rest of the European stock exchanges combined.

Prior to founding Flutter, Tim created a new retail concept when he opened his first Juice bar (Fresh n Smooth) in 1999 in Canary Wharf. The business has since evolved into the London wide 29-store business known as Crussh.

In 2009 Tim launched Augmentum Capital - a new breed of venture capital fund aiming to finance dynamic entrepreneurs in the technology and internet space. Backed by Jacob Rothschild and London listed RIT Capital Partners, Augmentum invests in businesses that exploit inefficient markets and those that develop disruptive technologies. Augmentum has invested in 6 internet and software businesses since 2010 including e-commerce players BullionVault.com, Bathrooms.com and Borro.com

Tim studied Russian at the University of Manchester and prior to embarking on his entrepreneurial career, worked for Bain & Company in Moscow, Boston, Sydney and London.

In 2012 he was made a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. He also works with the Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry on digital strategy.

Breakfast (Fruit, Cereal, Pastries) and coffee and tea will be served
